Little Folks...little nightmare!

I bought this beautiful Anna Maria Horner Voile, quite a while ago.
I had a few ideas, one of them was a basic patchwork quilt, but it looked way too plain...
Then I started stitching:
Idea A:
Still not happy with the look I tried a different lay-out:
And now, this is my third and final attempt....

Fleamarket Fancy Quilt

It seems like everyone in blogging land is creating their own version of the Fleamarket Fancy Quilt.
It was first done by Nettie:
This weekend, the second Quilt appeared on FilmintheFridge Blog:
And now this morning: another lady seems to be working on her version:

The fabric of choice seems to be Hope Valley from Denyse Schmidt, is this fabric available in South Africa?

WILD THING

You might wonder why I chose this name for a post, but that's the name for the wonderful pattern I used to create this pinwheel quilt. It was created by Thimble Blossoms and saw it by accident while I was roaming through photos on the flickr website. Whenever you need inspiration please browse http://www.flickr.com/.

The fabric I chose is called Tweet Tweet by Keiki. Very bright and cheerful...perfect for spring!
The materials needed are: 2 charm packs and 1-5/8 yard neutral fabric. I bought 2 charm packs of neutral fabric, instead of cutting the squares myself. It saves alot of time!
I can now add my name on the list of finished quilts on Camille's website: http://www.thimbleblossoms.com/.

Patchwork/Girly Quilt

It feels like ages, since I started working on this quilt. Basically to make a dent in the fabric scrap box.
I made a dent in the scrap box. (ha-ha!!) I also bought a bit of dots, checks, stripes....anything that would
compliment the pink animal fabric. It turned out beautiful, once the quilting was done by Dot's Quilts.
Please check out Dorothy's website: http://www.dotsquilts.co.za/ to find the most beautiful fabric.
And of course: they offer a wonderful longarm quilting service.
PS: Thank you once again, my wonderful 6 ft assistant for holding up the quilts...I love you!
